Hike

Hopefully the weather will be decent Sunday March 9 for our first hike of 2025.

THIS HIKE WILL BE LED BY: East Providence Conservation Commission for the East Providence Historical Society

This is an easy and relaxed paced hike that is good for beginners and kids. The grounds have plenty of history as well. We will stop several times and discuss the history of the property. The John Hunt House, a museum of East Providence history, will open at 1:00 PM following the hike.

That sounds like a great outdoor adventure! I used to take my children to the old Frenchtown Mill and tell them the history of the place. It’s not ‘protected’ in any way and may be pretty run down now.

There is a wiki page about it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tillinghast_Mill_Site

It has had several names over the years. It is located on Frenchtown Road, East Greenwich, behind the Parks Department.
